Thank you!

Thank you to all who attended the Pedagogy to Increase Student Success Unconference. It was a invigorating, engaging, and somehow relaxed day. Our keynote speakers were exemplary, and participants shared information on critical topics in the workshops. As organizers, we were amazed by the caliber of the faculty, administrators, and staff in the community college system.

Stephanie Briggs was kind enough to document the day for us. Enjoy this collection of photographs.

Hello Attendees,

Happy 2017! We hope that you have had a great start to the new year. There is only a month left until we will be seeing you on Saturday, February 25th in beautiful Santa Barbara for the unconference, Pedagogy to Increase Student Success.

We are pleased to announce two speakers joining us for this year’s conference. This year’s keynote speaker is Autumn Bell. Autumn is currently the Chief Professional Development Officer for the California Community Colleges’ Online Education Initiative (OEI). She works to ensure that California’s 113 Community Colleges have the training and support needed to increase student completion and success rates in online courses using the rich selection of tools provided by the Online Education Initiative. We also have the honor of hosting Bernard Luskin. Dr. Bernard Luskin, LMFT, is the Chancellor of Ventura County Community College District and has been CEO of eight colleges and universities. He taught at UCLA, USC, Claremont Graduate University, Pepperdine University, Touro University, California State University at Fullerton and Los Angeles, Fielding, and Claremont Graduate Universities. In the private sector, Dr. Luskin has been president and CEO of divisions of multiple Fortune 500 companies. He has authored best-selling books on economics, technology, and education and produced award-winning television series and CDs.  He launched the first Ph.D. program in media psychology at Fielding Graduate University and the UCLA MA degree program in Media Psychology and Social Change.  Dr. Luskin received two Emmys from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, lifetime achievement and distinguished alumni awards from the UCLA Doctoral Alumni Association, California State University at Los Angeles, and The University of Florida, the Irish Government, the European Union and the American Psychological Association.  Autumn and Bernard have a wealth of knowledge to share, and we are delighted to host them at this year’s Unconference.
